Obtaining Police Clearance certificates
Applications for police clearance for migration purposes should be forwarded as per specimen attached, together with the following documents.
Applicant's Original Sri Lankan Passport with Photocopies of the data page, visa endorsement and alteration pages.
Application processing fee of US $ 11.00 per application. Fees should be paid by Cash (only if application is hand delivered). The money order/certified cheque should be made in favour of the “Consulate General of Sri Lanka". Please note that personal checks will not be accepted.
Return mailing fee (Federal Express – $ 20.00) to forward the police clearance certificate upon receipt from the authorities in Colombo.
The Police Clearance certificate may also be returned via any of the following options and make payment with the application fee.
US Express Mail – $18.00
Federal Express – $20.00
International mailing fee – $35.00

This Consulate Office is not responsible for any document lost in the post.
Submission of forged documents and making false declarations relating to citizenship is a punishable offence. Fees will not be refunded
in these circumstances.
